Started Learning HTML at 11 Years Old

I wish I could tell you this is the start of a story where I got started super early and was a coding genius.. It’s not, video games kicked in and won that battle.

I Started An Online Business

This was a huge learning experience, which ultimately ended up coming to a close. But I learned about shopify and wordpress and got that initial taste of web development again.

May 2019

I Bought A Macbook Pro

Hands down my best investment. I bought this when I had no money, on credit. But I knew I had to get something to motivate me to code. I set goals, deadlines, & paid it off as soon as I could. Sure it put me in the hole $1,000 for a bit, but it has earned me back several times the initial value from the job I landed to website projects outside of work.

I Started Coding Outside of Work

I was working a restaurant management job during the nights and would wake up early in the morning to code throughout the day.

September 2019

I Land My First Coding Job at an Agency

After a lot of hard work, dreams are starting to come true. I finally land a coding job and all that hard work payed off. Many times I thought about giving up, but this made persevering through the hard times worth it.

I Start Freelancing Outside of Work

Those first few months on the job, I had an immense amount of learning and practicing I had to do. I was self taught, which was great from a motivational standpoint, but I lacked a lot of real world practice. Once I got my trade down a bit more, I started seeking freelance work, and landing my first site here.

I Redid My Website

My first portfolio website was flat, but this time around I wanted to create a CMS based portfolio site. This was a good learning experience, but ultimately I redid the site again to what it is today.

I started getting some traction on projects. It was a lot of fun, but could be difficult with time management.
